About Me...About Opal
I love looking and playing with opal. I grew up rock hounding with my family as a child and ended up studying Geology at the University of New Brunswick obtaining a Bachelor of Science in the subject. Opal became an obsession from the moment I laid eyes on a big enough piece that you didn"t mo a magnifying glass to see. I travelled to Australia and made contacts with ,,ar ous miners that are now good friends. They have showed me opals they rarely bring out of the safe. Some of thm have kept the best they ever mined. I have been able to get some good pieces from them. I studied the opal cutting practices of Spencer TAFE at Coober Pedy campus. I've been Out noodling, been down mines when opal has been found and I've seen a deal go down once where opal was traded for a dozer and an excavator. The bag of opal was never left alone in the car. We took it in the restaurant where we ate!
Because of the deals I make on opal, I am able to offer lower prices than most any website. I am very honest amthave a full return policy. I bargain, carrying large amounts of cash, with miners in Australia to bring you the best possible price on opal rough. My asking price is rarely higher than what the miner was originally asking. If you ever think I may be of a service to you, please don't hesitate to contact me via e mail, mail or phone, even if you just have a question. I know many miners that have some very special finished stones. I can get them cheaper than anyone I know. even though they are not up for sale.
Here I am in Andamooka using the divining rods to find opal. Your Suppose to sav a little praver before using the rods. When they cross that's where you dig. Many miners use then to find slides but I feel they're useless. Except inspiration for digging.

Cocky's are a common bird in the outback. They fly in flocks are more of a pest than something pretty to look at. Notice the adit in the background.

This pretty bird wants to bite me! Emu's are frequently seen in the Australian outback.

Here I arn in Pimba along the Stuart highway bemeen. .. gusta and Coober Pedy. This is where you turn off the highway to go to Andamooka.
Here's an exciting road sign for opal lovers. The Stuart highway runs all the way to Darwin from Adelaide. All the opal stops are in between.
